Nearly 50 years after hosting the famous 1976 Summer Olympics, Montréal continues to be a leader in sports tourism in Canada, attracting international competitions and drawing the eyes of the world. This year alone we’re proud to be the host city for a series of world-renowned, jaw-dropping sporting events.

Front and centre on the world stage of sports

This year, Montréal has been alit with the effervescent rhythm of sporting competitions and cultural festivals from around the world. These include this past weekend’s Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix 2024, not to mention the upcoming National Bank Open 2024 from August 3 to 12, the CEBL Championship Weekend 2024 from August 7 to 11, and the impatiently awaited 2024 Golf Presidents Cup, uniting the élite of the golfing world.

2024 has certainly been thrilling so far. It all started in the new year with the ISU World Figure Skating 2024, from March 18 to 24 at the Bell Centre. The spring heated up even further with the 2024 Canadian Artistic Swimming Championships & Canadian Masters Championships, which took place at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex from May 5 to 12. As the world prepares to awe at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Montréal also revived its Olympic heritage by hosting the 2024 Bell Track & Field Trials at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, from June 27 to 30, in front of 2,000 spectators.
