With a history of hosting the Olympics and the most iconic hockey team of all time, Montréal is one of the world’s great sports cities. During an average year, our fair city hosts approximately 60 major sporting events! Organizers of sporting events have come to understand that Montréal offers an ideal combination of world-class facilities, dedicated local leaders and an off-the-chart cultural charm factor. 

We’re excited about what 2025 has to offer: another year packed with exhilarating sports programming. Here’s a highlight reel.

2025 Taekwondo National and Open

Canada’s only international taekwondo event, this tournament will feature the top taekwondo athletes from Canada squaring off against the best in the world in top-class competition — teams from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia in the first major event of the season.

Dates: February 4 to 9, 2025

Organized by: Taekwondo Canada

Attendees expected: 1,200

Venue: Palais des congrès de Montréal

 

4 Nations Face-Off

The NHL 4 Nations Face-Off is an exhilarating ice hockey tournament set to take place at Montréal’s Bell Centre and Boston’s TD Garden. Hosted by the NHL and featuring its top players, this event will temporarily replace the 2025 All-Star Game. Teams representing Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States will battle in a round-robin format, culminating in an epic final between the top two teams.

Dates: February 12 to 15, 2025

Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix 2025

Montreal is home to the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, the biggest sporting event in all of Canada. It’s three full days of competition, class, charm, world-class events and parties.

National Bank Open 2025

It’s time for aces, deuces and volleys at this prestigious annual tennis tournament that’s a key event on the WTA schedule. Expect to see legends and soon-to-be legends of pro female tennis.

Dates: July 26 to August 7, 2025

Venue: IGA Stadium 

 

2025 Pan American Club Crew Dragon Boat Championships

The championship will be hosted by 22Dragons and H2oplayground, two of the world’s most prolific dragon boat clubs. All clubs are invited to participate in this 6th thrilling boating event.  

Dates: July 4 to 6, 2025

Attendees expected: 1,700

Venue: Olympic Basin at Parc Jean-Drapeau

 

2025 Jackalope 

Jackalope is the biggest action sports festival in Canada, uniting skateboard and bouldering into one feverish celebratory event. It’s an opportunity for action communities across the world to come together, celebrate their passion and reach the next level.

Grand Prix Cyclistes de Montréal 2025

This annual race is registered on the UCI World Tour calendar, a prestigious listing that ensures the participation of the 18 world teams composed of the greatest riders of the planet. With its ideal location on Mount Royal, it’s a guaranteed high calibre competition on an intimidating course.

Marathon Beneva de Montréal 2025

In an annual gathering of thousands of likeminded runners, this race follows a picturesque course that offers a new and attractive experience every year, aimed at highlighting the city’s many attractions.

ISU Short Track World Tour 2025

The ISU Short Track World Tour kicks off in Montréal. This exciting event features the world’s fastest skaters competing in a series of thrilling races.
