Canada’s best track and field athletes are coming to Montréal. From June 26 to 30, the historic Claude-Robillard Sports Complex will be hosting the 2024 Bell Track & Field Trials, and everything will be on the line. A star-studded gathering of World Champions, Olympic and Paralympic medallists, former national champions and future impact makers will be battling it out to decide who will represent Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Olympic-level talent left and right
The five action-packed days of competition will feature the national championships for Senior, U20, Para Athletics and Combined Events, in addition to serving as the selection trials for the Olympic and Paralympic track and field athletes for Paris. Canada happens to be home to both the defending World Champion in the men’s decathlon, Pierce LePage, and the defending Olympic Champion in the men’s decathlon, Damian Warner. This Montréal event will unite these two greats.
The venue, Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, is no stranger to world-class competitions: it was built for the 1976 Olympic Games and has continued to host national and international competitions every year. The site is also home to five high-performance training groups and welcomes some 20 sport associations, several of which are élite-level.
Montréal’s cred in the track and field sphere also includes the cutting-edge Centre national d’athlétisme – Montréal, aka CNAM, a centre of excellence for training sprints and the training ground for French Canadian sprinter Audrey Leduc. The city is also home to the Classique d’Athlétisme de Montréal, which draws international athletes annually.

On June 28, multiple Olympic medallists Andre De Grasse and Aaron Brown will line up with the fastest sprinters Canada has to offer, while Marissa Papaconstantinou and Austin Smeenk bring their medal-winning pace. And don’t miss World Champion Sarah Mitton on the shot put.

And finally, on Sunday, June 30, will Aaron Brown or Andre De Grasse claim the 200-metre crown? Will Charles Philibert-Thiboutot or Gabriela DeBues-Stafford reign over the mid-length races? And where will returning Paralympic Champion Greg Stewart place? We can’t wait to find out.
