Relaunch MTL: Local stakeholders band together to accelerate economic recovery
In a movement to assist economic recovery, several large stakeholders in Montréal are standing ‘shoulder to shoulder’ to promote solidarity along the path to economic recovery. Led by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal, a new initiative—entitled Relaunch MTL—aims to mobilize various players in the economic ecosystems of Montréal with the objective of accelerating recovery.
Partners in this initiative include Tourisme Montréal (that’s us), Aero Montréal (Quebec’s aerospace cluster), Montréal International (Montréal’s economic promotion agency), as well as more than a dozen other organizations and associations.
Think of it as a collaborative movement, sweeping across Montréal.
Key sectors
Relaunch MTL will create places of exchange, encourage the sharing of best practices and know-how, and formulate concrete actions to help decision-makers deploy an approach that is well-aligned with the needs of different sectors. In particular, Relaunch MTL will target 14 key sectors of the local economy:
• Aerospace
• Agri-food
• Aluminium
• Retail commerce
• Construction and infrastructure
• Sustainable development and clean technologies
• Higher education institutions
• Creative industries
• Manufacturing
• Life sciences and health technologies
• Financial services
• Information technologies
• Transport and logistics
• Tourism
The main objectives
Funded by the Government of Canada ($750,000), the Government of Québec ($425,000), as well as a contribution from the Metropolitan Community of Montreal and the Ville de Montréal,
Relaunch MTL will offer a unique experience that fosters discovery, networking, and collective learning. The events will take place in November, and will be broken down into nine action plans, nine sectoral forums, five talks, and a closing event.
