Montréal is preparing to host sporting events again!
With a history of hosting the Olympics and the most iconic hockey team of all time, Montréal is one of the world’s great sports cities. During an average year, our fair city hosts approximately 60 major sporting events! Organizers of sporting events have come to understand that Montréal offers an ideal combination of world-class facilities, dedicated local leaders, and an off-the-chart cultural charm factor.
While it’s been a tough year for many sporting events, we’re thrilled to announce that we are now ready to start planning once again. We have a few programs and incentives in place to ensure that your event is not only safe, but also incredibly meaningful.
We have funding!
Financial aid programs are available for sporting events held in Montréal. Most recently, a program called SITAS (Soutien aux intervenants en tourisme d’affaires et sportif) has been established to support stakeholders in Montréal’s business events and sports industry. It was created to encourage projects that bring Montréal greater visibility as an event destination on the national and international stage, focus on products and services that can enhance Montréal’s offer, and encourage new talent and innovation in the industry.
We’re always looking for locally-led, innovated sports projects that will support and enhance sports culture in Montréal. If you’ve got ideas, we want to talk! For more information on SITAS, send us a note: email@example.com.
Additionally, we have an ongoing funding program called Sports Events Montréal’s Hosting Program for National and International Sports Events. To find out more about the criteria, reach out to Andréanne Paquet: firstname.lastname@example.org.
