The Stunning Event Spaces of Parc Jean-Drapeau
Spanning two islands in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, Parc Jean-Drapeau is where fun happens – and not only because it’s home to the Montréal Casino and La Ronde amusement park! Montréalers come here for riverside strolling, for picnics on grassy knolls, for the learning opportunities at the Biosphere, and for the cutting-edge music festivals.
The four-season paradise is close to downtown Montréal, and it offers some of the city’s most unique meeting and event spaces.
Here are four handsome venues in Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Drenched in natural light, La Toundra is a multipurpose space perfectly suited for corporate meetings, office parties or product launches. The former Pavillion du Canada at Expo 67, the hall retains its mid-century architectural detailing. In summertime, the floor-to-ceiling windows give the sense of being in a verdant forest, while in the chillier months, it’s like being inside a larger-than-life snow globe.
Capacity: 180 guests banquet setting, 350 guests cocktail setting
Pavillon de la Jamaïque
A handsome venue that also dates back to Expo 67. Tastefully modernized, Pavillon de la Jamaïque offers stunning exposed wooden beams, floor-to-ceiling windows and a spacious terrace. Large enough to accommodate 150 people for a cocktail party, but intimate enough to ensure those vital professional connections occur. Loads of natural light.
Capacity: 100 guests banquet setting, 150 guests cocktail setting
Terrasse du Lac
If you want a venue that enables seamless flow between the indoors and the outdoors, Terrasse du Lac is an ideal option. With a generous-size terrace located beside a calm lake, the venue is a space for both sport and leisure. Team members can participate in active outdoor activities (such as swimming, beach volleyball and water sports). Alternatively, they can relax, sip a cocktail, or even flip burgers on the barbeque!
Capacity: Garden furniture for 150 guests
Housed on Montréal’s internationally-renowned Formula One World Championship route, The Paddocks is the newest venue option in Parc Jean-Drapeau. Paying homage to the history of Expo 67, the multi-functional event space has already received a prestigious Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence for its design and unique construction. The structure was noted for its focus on sustainability, utilizing locally sourced construction materials, solar panelling and open spaces on the top floor that eliminate the need for air conditioning. In short: bright, airy and très nouveau. The Paddocks makes its début on the Montréal scene in September of 2019.
Capacity: 800 to 5000 guests
