The Palais des congrès de Montréal celebrates local creativity with its new vision
The Palais des congrès de Montréal is the city’s convention centre, smack dab in the heart of the action between the towers of Downtown and the charms of Old Montréal. More than just a conference centre, the award-winning Palais (check out that rooftop for one) is a part of the urban fabric in close proximity to top local cultural, shopping and gastronomic favourites that leave a lasting impression on attendees. It’s also a cornerstone of the local community, dedicated to advocating for Montréal’s unique creativity – and they’ve just announced a four-point vision to set the path forward.
Living to the beat of the Montréal community
Starting in late March 2019, the Palais des congrès will unveil initiatives to thrill locals just as much as it does its international guests – prompting proud ownership of an iconic local fixture named as one of the 1001 Buildings You Must See Before You Die.
Showcasing local scientists and creatives
Montréal stands at the international forefront of neuroscience, pharmaceuticals, cardiology, oncology, fashion, aerospace and artificial intelligence – just to name a few. And the Palais des congrès is setting a primary goal of broadening the reach of these sectors and putting a spotlight on Montréal’s incredible talent pool.
With pop-up exhibitions, film screenings and installations curated in collaboration with MASSIVArt, the Palais des congrès' Les Primtemps du Palais programming is not only aimed at international attendees, but also at bringing Montréalers into their conference centre to experience local creativity first-hand.
Giving visitors a fascinating experience
Pardon us tooting our own horn for a sec, but we’ve got some pretty sweet awards to show off on the mantelpiece at the moment. Montréal’s been ranked as ICCA’s Top City in North America for international meetings as well as the Most Reputable City and the UIA’s Leading Event City in the Americas – so we know we’re making a good impression. The Palais des congrès new plan promises to continue ensuring that the events it welcomes are memorable and keep Montréal as a top meeting destination.
Helping to define the convention centre of tomorrow
With a focus on best practices (including integration of new technologies and environmental impact) and expanding the definition of what a convention centre can be, the Palais des congrès is aiming for a bright future close within its grasp.
