France’s pioneering luxury hotel brand, Sofitel, has announced the complete beautification of its flagship Canadian property in Montréal's Golden Square Mile. Located on prestigious Sherbrooke Street, just steps away from the city’s most popular tourist attractions and boutiques, the 20-year-old flagship’s complete beautification project marks a major milestone. All of the hotel’s facilities — including guest rooms, lobby, common areas and the Renoir restaurant — are getting a makeover, with the primary objective of embodying the beauty of local Montréal culture and French-style hospitality. The hotel will stay open throughout the 3-phase project.

This second Petit Hôtel instalment will brighten Notre-Dame Street in Old Montréal. The exciting news is that it’s only the first of many: the Gray Collection have announced they’ll be developing a Petit Hôtel chain.

Entrepôt Van Horne
The iconic water tower that presides over the corner of Van Horne and Boulevard Saint-Laurent in Mile End is on the verge of a makeover signed by designer Zébulon Perron and architect Thomas Balaban, giving the edifice meaning and purpose again after years of lying fallow. The complex will include a boutique hotel, a restaurant, office space, business spaces and a rooftop terrasse with an incredible, little-seen view.

Casino de Montréal Hotel
Adding to their already fully rounded Casino experience, Casino de Montréal owners Loto-Québec are planning a $150-million hotel project on their iconic Parc Jean-Drapeau site. The luxury property will consist of 200 rooms in a building that respects the importance and the natural beauty of the site, maintaining a low horizon line and a human scale. The views of the Formula 1 track during Grand Prix will be outstanding.

Royalmount Hotel
Royalmount is a 1.8 acre, $7-billion, carbon-neutral real estate project featuring an 18,000 square-foot event garden and theatre adjacent to an 8,000 square-foot covered pavilion, both capable of hosting hundreds of people. The complex will also include an aquarium, 450,000-plus trees and a pedestrian bridge over the Décarie Expressway linking the mall to the metro station. The hotel will be a hospitality hub located halfway between the airport and downtown Montréal, where patrons will be able to immerse themselves in the unique culture of the community.

StarCité Hotel
Located on a famous site in the city’s east end, mere steps from the Olympic Stadium, this hotel complex project designed by Provencher Roy will stretch over seven stories and 16,000 square feet. The project will transform the beloved StarCité cinema space — which will remain, in part, and provide entertainment options for the hotel patrons. It will also include a large exterior walkway, a public plaza and direct access to the metro station. The hotel’s multifunctional space will be designed to welcome 1,000 people.
