Montréal is a sensual city—our charm appeals to the five senses. When we’re all travelling again, here’s how to come to your senses... Montréal style.

SEE: Urban Art

Each summer, urban artists from around the globe descend upon Montréal for MURAL Festival to paint massive murals on the sides of buildings, primarily in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood. It's a great way to discover everything this neighbourhood has to offer. Watch as a mural takes shape in real time, or visit dozens of murals located along and around Saint-Laurent Boulevard any time of year.

HEAR: Live Music

Montréal is the place for live music, any night of the week. Popular music festivals such as Osheaga and the Montréal International Jazz Festival draw international artists. Throughout the year, music venues such as MTELUS, Club Soda, Le Ministère and House of Jazz feature a rotating list of artists. Place des Arts offers six show venues, including the acoustically precise Maison Symphonique de Montréal classical music hall.

SMELL: Montréal Bagels

As a food paradise, there are many delicious aromas throughout Montréal, but you just can't beat the smell of fresh sesame bagels baked in wood-burning ovens. Two iconic bakeries—Fairmount Bagel and St-Viateur Bagel—work around the clock to create delicious hand-rolled bagels in an array of flavours. In the summer months, St-Viateur even has a bagel food truck that roams the city.

TASTE: Culinary Tours

Food and cultural tours are the perfect way to discover Montréal's diverse cuisine. Pick a neighbourhood and discover fresh produce markets and fascinating cafes, or explore the city's craft beverage scene. ‘Round Table Tours offers several themed tours for groups including the opportunity to learn more about Montréal's locally grown, plant-based movement.

TOUCH: Escape Rooms

There are plenty of hands-on workshops and activities for groups in and around the city, but nothing beats an immersive escape game for getting the entire team problem solving and working together. A/Maze Escape Games offers five locations around Montréal, each with a captivating story. Fan favourite game? The multisensory Secret Order of Slosilo.
