The Palais des congrès de Montréal joins forces with #MEET4IMPACT
Today, more than ever, ensuring your event leaves a positive impact on the community and environment is a top priority. And following their adoption of the UN’s Agenda for Sustainable Development, our convention centre the Palais des congrès de Montréal is joining forces with #MEET4IMPACT to further the study and development of the social impact of meetings and events.
Setting the trail
Conceived by strategic thinker Geneviève Leclerc, co-launched with social responsibility expert Jacques Blanchet and led by Mohamed Reda Khomsi, professor of governance in tourism, event management and E-Tourism at the Department of Urban Studies and Tourism in the School of Management at the Université du Québec à Montréal, the #MEET4IMPACT research team looks to develop and improve best practices and methods for future events. By looking closely at the community legacies of major events, #MEET4IMPACT aims at generating and maximizing social value – an important consideration for planners and attendees. Keep tabs on their progress and join the conversation on social media via their hashtag #MEET4IMPACT!
