Located right on the happening corner of St. Lawrence Boulevard and Saint-Catherine Street in the centre of Quartier des spectacles lies the MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises, a cultural centre and repository of Montréal’s memories and popular history. The MEM’s beautiful event spaces are the perfect place to introduce delegates to the heart of what it means to be in Montréal.

A memorable location for stand-out events

The MEM is a museum with free public spaces, temporary exhibitions, a cabaret, a boutique-café that people can visit to get to know a different, vernacular side of Montréal history. The MEM takes the pulse of the population through its off-site activities as well, presented in different areas of the city throughout the year, and provides a wide range of content online, from its own encyclopedia to podcasts.

To carry out its mission, the MEM prioritizes citizens’ voices, past and present. They collect and present first-hand accounts from a range of communities to tell the history of Montréal. It’s a quintessentially “Montréal” space located at the cultural epicentre of downtown Montréal, with a handful of fantastic rental spaces at your disposal.

The MEM’s versatile event spaces boast ease of access and an inspiring setting, complete with stunning city views. It’s a unique and memorable venue for small-to-medium events of all kinds.

The Cabaret is a handsome theatre equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, perfect for presentations or shows. This space can accommodate up to 110 people and offers a view of St. Lawrence Boulevard.

The Belvédère has floor-to-ceiling windows that look over Sainte-Catherine Street and the Esplanade Tranquille. With downtown Montréal as its backdrop, this unique space is the perfect venue for launches, cocktails and receptions for up to 60 people.

Atelier 1 and Atelier 2 are the smaller spaces inhouse, both versatile spaces can be adapted to accommodate a variety of events, from team gatherings to board meetings, for up to 35 people. Atelier 1 is a light-filled room overlooking Clark Street, while Atelier 2 has direct access to a kitchenette.

Whether you hail from Montréal or have adopted the city as your own, even for the length of an event, you’re part of its history and valued by the MEM.
