Industry News and Leaders Tourisme Montréal: News and People What's New in Montréal

Since its founding in 1963, the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has kept tabs on and formed connections between top meeting venues and host cities around the world. And once again, Montréal ranks first in international association meetings in North America. With 87 major international events held in our fair city in 2018 – more than second place Toronto at 75, and bronze medallist Vancouver with 62 – it’s clear that the world has Montréal first in their meeting rolodexes.

The perfect pieces to fit any puzzle

This year isn’t our first time up at the podium with a gold place finish, and we’re chuffed at another emphatic pat on the back for a job well done. But what brings Montréal above and beyond other major North American conference host cities like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles? The answer is simple – it’s our perfect blend of unforgettable city-wide venues, inspiring accommodations, gastronomic wonders and our award-winning conference centre the Palais des congrès de Montréal right at the crossroads between the modern towers of downtown and the old school flair of Old Montréal. And with 150 direct flights serving every corner of the globe from YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, many attendees are just a non-stop jet away.

A team that works for you

And the Montréal difference also comes with hands-on collaborative assistance with a dedicated convention service manager from our team that’s your proactive single point of contact from day one. Our goal is keeping it simple and seamless, and with a strong network of Team Montréal venues, suppliers, restaurants and hotels, we’ve got every angle covered.

A city unlike any other

Montréal’s geographic and cultural place as a major international gateway bridges the gaps between Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Bilingual, multicultural and entirely unique, attendees and event planners love Montréal. In fact, no less than 97% of business and leisure travellers who’ve visited Montréal would recommend the city to their friends and colleagues – and that’s something to be proud about! And that’s not all – here’s a few other things we’re excited to share with the world:
