Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel reopens after massive renovations
After a yearlong renovation process, one of Montréal’s most beloved hotels has once again opened its doors. With nearly 1000 guest rooms, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is the largest hotel in Montréal. Beyond its size, ‘The Queen E’ (as it’s known locally) is loved because of its prime location, event services and unparalleled history.
A QUICK GLIMPSE BACK
Since 1958, The Queen Elizabeth has been a reference in the world of luxury hospitality and a proud part of Montréal’s vibrant social fabric and economic development. In 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono held their famous Bed-In for Peace, where — among a handful of famous friends — they composed and recorded the anthem Give Peace a Chance. Over the past few decades, prestigious personalities such as the members of British royal family, kings, queens and film stars have stayed at the hotel.
THE FRESH FEATURES
With the renovations come some fresh amenities. Here are a few of the new spaces.
A new restaurant, bar and coffee lounge. Innovative culinary and experiential concepts brought to life via the expertise of Baptiste Peupion, Culinary Director, and Nader Chabaane, Director of Mixology.
An urban market. A revolutionary concept in the hospitality world, the market offers seasonal products and supports local producers and artisans, all while fostering a community spirit.
A multi-purpose venue. The space, entitled Agora, will be home to a selection of dynamic programming, pop-up shops and much more.
THEY MEAN BUSINESS
A partnership with local experiential meeting experts C2 Montréal has helped to re-establish The Queen Elizabeth as a high-end business property. The hotel now offers an innovative business campus featuring a set of interconnected and accessible public meeting and multi-functional spaces where business teams are able to engage in creative, collaborative and innovative experiences. Ideal for corporate meetings, association conferences and executive retreats, this space is designed to adapt to client needs, and features leading-edge technology that transforms the layout and the ambience.
The pièce de résistance is the new penthouse business space. This fall, Espace C2 will occupy one wing of the uppermost floor and will stretch into a rooftop terrace. It will be able to accommodate up to 220 guests in a variety of configurations.
As of this week, the Queen Elizabeth Hotel is officially open — 500 rooms are now ready to welcome guests. The hotel is also taking reservations for business meetings and special events. Reach out for more details!
