Industry News and Leaders Tourisme Montréal: News and People What's New in Montréal Working Smarter

Today’s event planners leave no stone unturned in planning an unforgettable event that pulls ahead of the pack, endlessly documented on social media and loved by attendees. Created with the assistance of the MT Lab tourism, culture and entertainment startup incubator, Montréal’s Stimulation Déjà Vu is combining cognitive strategies and neuroscience with the sense of smell to create unforgettable, visceral sensoral experiences sure to elevate any event.

Leading by a nose

We’ve written before about creating memorable events in the age of the experience economy, and shined the spotlight on creative innovators, groundbreaking venues like our main conference centre the Palais des congrès de Montréal and the rise of commercial and social neuroscience at meetings. Stimulation Déjà Vu is raising the bar and setting trends via the sense of smell by offering olfactory and sensory workshops, bespoke olfactory creations and event activations customized to any specification. We all know, “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” but no two events have to!

We’re on the scent!

Aiming at triggering emotions and memories, the creations of Stimulation Déjà Vu leave a lasting impression. Fittingly based in a world-leading city of neuroscience, Stimulation Déjà Vu’s award-winning projects include installations in Mexico and France, as well as olfactory boxes featuring the smells of Montréal (for instance, of our epic churches) for Tourisme Montréal, all targeted at the sense of smell with neurological suggestion. Blending scents with science, Stimulation Déjà Vu is proving it’s just not what you see at an event that keeps it at the forefront of an attendee’s mind – and that the palette open to planners now truly covers all five senses.
