Le Monastère is a Montréal-based, non-profit company that supports the growth and development of contemporary circus by offering artists a platform to showcase their original creations. They mix the incredible physical talent of circus performers with the tradition of classic German cabaret. The result is irreverent — yet intellectually accessible — performance art.

Le Jardin!

Thanks to the success of the 2020 edition, which attracted more than 10,000 passers-by per week, Le Jardin has returned for another summer! Le Jardin (which translates as “The Garden”) is a unique green space in downtown Montréal which offers a multitude of artistic, cultural and community activities: music, comedy, circus, artisans’ markets, and more. This diversified program enriches the downtown area for the entire summer season and is an important part of the post-COVID cultural revival of Montréal!

Runaway with the circus!

Le Monastère shows and ambient performances feature highly trained circus acts and can be tailored to your group’s theme or special project. Contortionists? Jugglers? Tightrope walkers? Yes, yes, and yes. Le Monastère develops shows according to your vision, the type of entertainment that brings a unique signature to your event. Think of it as a turnkey show — one that surpasses expectations!

A complete show could last 20 to 30 minutes, hosted by a master of ceremonies, and a selection of circus artists handpicked for a most original performance. Additionally, performance numbers can be included between meal services, between different segments of your event. Not sure in what artistic direction to go? No problem. They offer plenty of options, with crowd-favourite themes such as old circus, Gatsby, or nature.
